Whatever you do
So, I quit my job last week. After 6 years in the professional services world, I am now unemployed. My job has trained me well in client service, among other things, and I see that I am just changing clients from commercial real estate owners & managers to the people of Mamelodi, South Africa. It was exciting to share the news with my colleagues, many of which are great friends, of my upcoming adventure that will begin on Thursday, September 18.
Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”
In just the past couple of weeks many details have come together, including the provision of renters through December 2009. More importantly, I have been given an incredible peace that God is with me, and He has now prepared me to go.
HELP: If anyone has second-hand digital cameras they can get to me before next Wednesday, I will take them with me to have Nate teach photography. With this, we can A) give people a skill that may be used as a way to create economy (photos for website design, etc) B) give the people of Mamelodi a way to express themselves and create art and C) better document the life in a township from within.
