Hands & Feet
It is encouraging to see what my team has already started in the 5 weeks before I arrived. While Nate was teaching a computer class, Allan, Annie, & I went to the “Pic-N-Pay” grocery store in hopes of collecting expired items to use for feeding orphans, grannies, and families in the Mamelodi township. Because of relationships that my team has built, they once again donated several grocery carts full of food! It looks like we will be able to collect from here once a week, and hopefully expand our relationships with other grocery stores. This food will go to, among others, a group of 8 orphans living in a home together with sporadic adult supervision. Since much of our immediate efforts will focus on these orphans, you will hear a lot more of their story and our plans to help them.
You should remember Maria from my business cards…she is one of the 8. Below is a pic with some of these 8 with Rebecca.
“For the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted perish forever.” Psalm 9:18
